3. Step-by-Step Installation Guide
1 Measurement & Sizing Selection:
◦ Measure the maximum outer diameter (OD) of your wire harness including connectors.
◦ Note: Braided sleeving shortens lengthwise by approximately 20%–30% when expanded. Always cut the sleeving slightly longer than the cable length.
2 Hot Cutting (Fraying Prevention):
◦ PET monofilaments will fray if cut with standard scissors.
◦ Use a Hot Knife Cutter to melt and seal the ends simultaneously. If using standard shears, singe the cut edge lightly with a heat gun or lighter to seal the strands.
3 Accordion Push-and-Feed Method:
◦ Compress the sleeving lengthwise to expand its inner diameter, then push the wire harness through.
◦ Once positioned, smooth and pull the sleeving taut along the bundle for a snug fit.
4 End Termination & Fixing:
◦ Secure both open ends to prevent retraction or slipping.
