Silicone Fire sleeve Standard | High Temperature Fire Sleeve for Hose, Wire & Cable Protection
Fireproof sleeving—also known as high-temperature resistant sleeving, or silicone-coated fiberglass sleeving—is manufactured by weaving alkali-free fiberglass into a tubular form, which is then coated on its outer surface with organic silicone rubber and subjected to a vulcanization process. Once vulcanized, the sleeving can be utilized for extended periods within a temperature range of -65°C to 300°C while retaining its inherent softness and elasticity. It is generally well-suited for protecting relatively short or straight pipelines and cables. Commonly employed for cable protection and in automotive wiring harnesses and generator sets, it also finds extensive application in high-temperature and heating zones across various industries—including steel manufacturing, smelting, shipbuilding, and chemical processing—as well as for fluid lines, rolling mill cables, oil pipes, cables in sawing and edging equipment, electrical voltage apparatus, large-scale construction projects, hydraulic systems, and automotive exhaust systems.
The composition of these specialized high-temperature resistant materials endows this fireproof sleeving with a host of characteristics that are difficult for other similar materials to replicate: exceptional resistance to high temperatures, superior thermal insulation properties, flame retardancy, electrical insulation capabilities, chemical stability, resistance to weathering and aging, as well as resistance to cold, water, oil, ozone, high voltage, electrical arcs, and corona discharge.
